Ingrid Allen was born in California in 1975. Having grown up at The Bruchion School of Art in Los Angeles CA, founded by her parents, Ingrid was exposed to the aesthetics and techniques of the old masters from an early age. Since 1991, Allen's formal training in the art of oil painting has taken her around the world, studying with Jan Saether in Oslo, Norway, Gage Mace in Los Angeles, California, Inger Hodgson in Florence, Italy, Peter Aldrich in Seattle, Washington and most recently, Liv Saether in Newport Beach California.

Allen is committed to the process of creating the portrait being a once-in-a-lifetime experience and one which is meaningful and enjoyable for artist and subject alike. Through the use of natural lighting and old master techniques, she creates a timeless heirloom, striving to capture an exact likeness while infusing the image with the subject's unique spirit and personality.
